Road Rug
Ever seen a flooded road way? Make it a drain.....
Every year the interstate highway system is effected with harsh weather being flooding ice or snow... the cost to cover with a weather shield is large and time consuming so a faster correction to the condition is to roll out a "heated vacuum" carpet then being able to suck the melt water off the road way....
The design system will maintain a safer roadway in inclement weather for police and first Responders ( medical transport / firefighters ) as well as making transportation for commerce a less stressful situation allowing big rigs to maintain control of the vehicles...
The system then powered by fuel less vacuum systems will also provide the electricity for the embedded electric resistors to then melt the snow or sleet. The vacuum system then will "wick" the water from the fibrous "mat" to then leave the surface free of ice snow or water pools... The design will prevent "hydro-planning" and provide the driver a more stable road surface.
The system then may be taken up in the spring and summer months or left in place in hazard prone regions..
The securing "pins" that hold the rug in place then of sheathed type where the insert cylinder will remain in the road with quick release center anchor pins with extraction hoop recess ( low profile to not damage the automotive tires...)
the "road"rug" then with extra reinforcement around the securing pin holes.. the thermal expansion and contraction of the rug will determine the material selection.. also the Albedo effect into consideration ie... The color of the rug.
The water then collected by the vacuum system may be frozen to delay the hazard via fuel less snow blower system with Nitrogen super cooler.... or directed via pipe to controlled drainage.....
The "hot" air discharge from the blower unit then to keep the fibrous mat just above freezing so that the snow melts 1/16" above the surface of the road "to cause" only water droplets upon the fibrous mat. This will cause Zero accumulation of ice or snow upon the road...volume of hot air not to cause a micro burst effect....or unwanted cyclic weather phenom (tornado). The actual mat warming the by the heat within the mat mesh tube the with low volume discharge the surrounding fibrous mat then able to also conduct heat via the electric resistors.. The tube pattern in the mat then repeating until the heat dissipation then is equal to the ambient exterior air temperature for vertical discharge.
The system will also be able to vent hot air and vacuum loop across the surface of the mat with greater vacuum pull to then compensate for the extremely low temperatures. The loop cycle will disperse hot air along the surface of the fibrous mat then by greater vacuum pull keep the heat low and cycling by vacuum intake across the surface of the mat causing short loops of warm air. The cycle function then controlled by the environmental conditions with monitoring sensors to then extrapolate correct selections for the "road rug" system.
The vacuum system then as a wet-vacuum ( wet vac) will have an additional electric resistance heating unit upon the dry air vacuum exhaust then with the assistance of an electric water pump. The wet vacuum tube then a porous mesh of flexible carbon graphite weave with a semi coating of a chemical resistant rubber to also then vent cold air injection for the fog reduction on the road...
The design will also reduce accidents from fog..... then causing greater visibility with the ability to to push cold air upward in the "wick tube" via air pump ( the wick tube not only drainage for water ). The air cold air then able to lift the fog.... so the volume of air then great.... the air the post filter keeping the water out of the injection air for fog..
The tube pattern will repeat along the length of the rug.... and connect to the blower / wet vac unit then powered by a fuel less roadway pump ( http://www.designdeskinc.com/fuel-less-roadway-water-pump.html ) that will also offset the cost of production by allowing the excess electricity required for the system to illuminate street lighting by lessening the tax burden. The system may also accelerate gravity rate storm drains to assist in water in the road way...
Multiple materials will be used within this design system.
The volume of material in and of itself is massive with so many miles of road way. Recycled water bottles modified to resist Uva and Uvb ( sunlight) with an enviromentally friendly fire retardant that will not leach out will be a good choice for the fiber mat.. then possibly reinforced with industrial hemp.
An algae bio reactor (http://www.designdeskinc.com/algae-bio-reactor.html ) may also produce the oil to derive the plastic at low cost.
Additionally the challenge of the systems longevity is a major factor due to the repetitive fatigue of cars and trucks then causing high compressive weight and repeated material fatigue ie... the tubes being run over repeatedly.. a meshed weave tube of graphite will work for the injection tubes then also being conductive thermally.
The vacuum tube then requires ...possibly air pressure to retain it's form or return to it's form after being compressed to allow vacuum.with intake orifice ports along the length, ..like an inner tube for a tire with the vacuum structure then "rigidized" by air pressure.... ie... the tube inflated circumference diameter with the ability to to recover it's form with the interior the rigid enough to allow for suction / vacuum to wick the water out to the pumping system.
The system may in fact reduce the time interval for road resurfacing then saving the jurisdictions money...
In the advent of an automotive accident the design will then be able to suck a fuel spill away from the automobile to prevent increased hazard from fire for the vehicle occupant or first Responder....
The design system then also useful for roof tops in snow prone regions to then reduce weight loading upon the house.
Additionally the system used in more narrow strips good for Handicap ramps, side walks , stair cases and drive ways...
